Loacndina 10 ottobre

A new event promoted by the OJS Foundation – The Brass Group to support and showcase musical research.

October 10, 9:30 p.m. – Santa Maria dello Spasimo Complex.

The concert series “Brass at Spasimo – Music of Our Time” continues in the magnificent setting of the Church of Santa Maria dello Spasimo in Palermo. On Saturday, October 10 at 9:30 p.m., the series will feature the concert “Black Radio Vibes”. Black music, soul atmospheres, funk, nu jazz and fusion sounds will take the stage at Spasimo.

Created in 2026 from an idea by Francesco Foresta Jr., known as Ciccio, and Gioele D’Anna, Black Radio Vibes was conceived with the aim of bringing to the stage an atmosphere capable of embracing and reinterpreting the many facets of black music. Soul, nu jazz and funk come together in a repertoire that alternates between established songs and original compositions, enriched by the influences of fusion.

The project aims to create a dialogue between different musical languages, experimenting with rhythms, colours and sounds to build a dynamic and contemporary listening experience. It is a journey through the different souls of black music, where tradition meets musical exploration and improvisation becomes a central element of musical expression.

The project is brought to life by a line-up featuring:

  • Ciccio Foresta – drums

  • Gioele D’Anna – electric guitar

  • Diego Modesto – electric bass

  • Dennis Turtola – piano

  • Andrea Ardizzone – trumpet

A line-up of young talents from the music and performing arts scene, bringing together a solid rhythm section with the interplay of guitar, piano and trumpet, creating the perfect setting for a concert rich in groove, musical cross-pollination and moments of improvisation.

“Black Radio Vibes” is part of the “Brass at Spasimo” programme, a concert series that brings different expressions of contemporary music to the unique setting of Spasimo, highlighting the encounter between young talents, original projects and diverse musical languages. An evening dedicated to groove, musical cross-pollination and the infinite nuances of black music, featuring original compositions, reinterpretations and standards.
